Pall Chemical Raw Material Gas and Air Separation Filtration Solutions Optimize Chemical and Polymer Industry Processes
Pall chemical raw material gas and air separation filtration solutions offer effective contaminant removal for the chemicals and polymers industry.
Raw gas feeds typically include ethane, propane, and/or mixtures of ethane/propane as well as natural gas. These gases carry a number of solid contaminants, including iron sulfides, iron oxides, iron hydroxides. These contaminants are commonly known in the industry as black powder. Black powder is a common corrosion-related contamination found in pipelines. A majority of the contaminant is very fine and sub-micron in size, consisting primarily of iron oxides. The presence of sour gas accelerates the formation of mixtures of iron sulfide and iron oxides. Gases may also contain liquid contaminants such as diesel and brine from storage tanks.
Clean, aerosol free gas is critical to equipment reliability and optimized operations in the refinery and chemical industries. Large ethylene plants, methanol plants, and fertilizer plants making ammonia, urea and other compounds want products on specification with no contamination. Traditional bag and cartridge filter systems often fail to meet critical filtration requirements.
Our chemical raw material gas and air separation filtration solutions mitigate the impact of contaminants by filtration or coalescence techniques. Superior and durable Pall technology reduces operating costs and operator intervention.
Ultipleat High Flow Filter
The Ultipleat® High Flow filter is an economical and reliable filter system for high flow applications. Just one 152. 4 mm (6 in) diameter Ultipleat High Flow filter element can handle flow rates up to 1,900 lpm (500 gpm). The unique crescent-shaped pleat geometry of the Ultipleat filter enables the use of significantly fewer elements and smaller housings for high flow. The Ultipleat also features a large diameter and proprietary range of available filter media.
The Ultipleat High Flow Filter is two to four times smaller than conventional depth or pleated filter technologies. Smaller systems are also less costly to install and maintain.
The inside-to-outside flow configuration and coreless construction of the Ultipleat High Flow filter allows it to be tightly compacted to minimize disposal costs. Waste disposal savings are even greater when you consider the longer service life of the Ultipleat High Flow filters.
Profile Depth Filters
Profile Depth Filters provide reproducible production yields, fixed pore structure, and absolute particle retention. Each Profile® II element has an inner (downstream) section in which the pore diameter is constant. This section provides absolute rated filtration. It also has an outer (upstream) section in which the pore diameter varies continuously from that of the absolute rated section up to 120 micrometers* (μm).
An absolute rating, which may only be assigned to a filter with a fixed pore structure, assures consistent, high quality filtration. The upstream section provides effective prefiltration for every particle with a diameter larger than the rated size. The continuity of the variable pore section, its wide range of pore sizes, and its depth combine to provide extraordinarily long life in service.
When compared at equal efficiency, Profile II elements can be expected to yield longer service cycles by factors of six or more, compared with existing products. This data is based on the widely accepted modified F-2 Filter Performance Test.
Seprasol Liquid/Gas Coalescer
Pall's SepraSol™ liquid/gas coalescers provide high-efficiency liquid and solid removal from contaminated gases reducing maintenance and operating costs. A patented chemical surface treatment enhances the coalescer drainage properties leading to improved performance allowing for smaller systems, lower pressure drop, and improved ability to recover from liquid slugs.
Pall's high-efficiency SepraSol coalescer is recommended for a wide range of gas filtration applications, including protecting compressors and turbines, protecting low and ultra-low NOx burners by cleaning fuel gas, and removing lubrication oil, water, compressor wear products, corrosion products, and other solids from effluent gas streams.
These coalescers minimize foaming tendencies in sweetening and dehydration units, minimize amine and glycol losses downstream of gas sweetening and dehydration units, and clean dirty fuel gas and instrument gas.
